The Stock Types & Dividends Page

The Company Tabs across the top of the form represent all of the companies in the database.  By clicking on a company tab the dividend history appears for that company.

When the Dividend page appears for the selected company for the first time the text boxes are dark because there is no data in the underlying table.

Creating A New Dividend Record

When ready to enter a dividend record:

Ø             Press the ‘Add Dividend Record’ button.

A new Dividend record appears on the form with the current date.
Notice the date also appears in the list of dividend dates.

Ø                  If not already selected, click on the date in the list to access it.

Ø                  Enter the actual date that the dividend was disbursed.

Ø                  Enter the total amount of money disbursed.

The dividend per share is automatically calculated based on the outstanding common shares.  If the calculation is not exactly what you need you can modify it.

Ø                  Select the Dividend Per Share textbox, and

Ø                  Enter the new dividend per share.

Saving Data

When finished entering data for the dividend disbursement:

Ø                Press the Save button on the Standard toolbar.

Reverting Data

If you want to remove the data you’ve entered prior to saving it:

Ø                Press the Revert button on the Standard toolbar.

Deleting Data

If you want to delete the record for a dividend after it has been saved:

Ø                Press the ‘Delete Dividend Record’ button on the form while the record is selected.

Continue Entering Dividend Records

When finished with the first record, you can repeat the instructions above to enter additional dividends.

Backup Data

To ensure that data is not lost it’s a good idea to back up your data files to a location other than the current application folder.  This can be done by selecting the ‘Back-up Data Files…’ option under File on the main menu.   One of the CMS forms must be on the screen for the backup option to be available.  Backup files can be saved to any location the computer has access to including other computers on a network.

Import Data

To import backup files select the ‘Import Data Files…’ option under File on the main menu.  You are given the opportunity to save current data before importing a backup file which is necessary if you want to retain the data that is currently displayed on the screen.  If you do not backup the data it will be lost when importing a backup file.

To Close The Stock Register Form:

Ø                Press the close box (the red box with an X) at the top right of the form.

The Stock Register form closes.
